Welcome to FAITH FIRST, our catechism program at St. Thomas the Apostle  Church. Our program’s intent is to teach the foundations of our Catholic faith and doctrine in accordance with those goals outlined in the Catechesis Guidelines of the Diocese of Charleston:

• To proclaim the message of Jesus and the teachings of the Catholic Church
• To create an environment of, and opportunities for, building community
• To promote knowledge and experience of Liturgy and other communal prayer
• To teach and promote personal prayer
• To proclaim the Church’s moral and social teaching in all areas of catechesis
• To provide opportunities to give service, linking faith through action

We welcome children whose parents have a sincere desire to raise their children in the Catholic faith. As there is no cost for this program, we require that participating families become registered parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

St. Thomas is a growing parish, continually evolving, with a diverse population, and ALL are welcome to our Religious Education program. We work to ensure inclusion and comfort for those children with challenges of any kind.
